Clinical Internship (Practicum / Internship Student)

📍 North Carolina · Telehealth 🕐 Flexible / Rolling Start 💰 Possibility of Pay

Kindred Connections welcomes practicum and internship students who want real, closely supervised clinical experience in a culturally responsive, telehealth-based practice. This is a rolling opportunity — we don't require you to start on a fixed semester schedule, and we work with your program's specific hour and documentation requirements.

What You'll Do

  • Provide individual (and, as readiness allows, group) counseling under direct clinical supervision.
  • Complete intakes, documentation, and treatment planning appropriate to your training level.
  • Participate in regular individual and/or group supervision.
  • Complete Kindred Learning Academy, our full onboarding and training program, alongside your clinical work.
  • Bring case material, questions, and uncertainty to supervision as a normal, expected part of the placement — not something to hide.
  • Collaborate with clients using culturally responsive, accessible, person-centered care, consistent with our practice-wide approach.

Real training, not busywork

Every intern completes the same Kindred Learning Academy training our licensed staff go through — practice culture and mission, professional conduct, client privacy and telehealth-specific confidentiality, social media and digital boundaries, attendance and scheduling, clinical responsibilities and supervision, ethics and conflicts of interest, safety and emergencies, and how we give and receive feedback. It's a genuine onboarding curriculum, not a formality.

Who We're Looking For

  • Currently enrolled in a graduate counseling, social work, or related clinical program requiring practicum or internship hours.
  • In good standing with your program and eligible to accrue direct clinical hours.
  • Open to close supervision, feedback, and a developmental view of your own skills.
  • Comfortable providing telehealth services, or willing to build that comfort with support.
  • Values accessibility, inclusion, and respect for diverse identities and lived experiences.
  • Reliable, professional, and timely with documentation, even while still learning the ropes.

Supervision & Support

  • Direct clinical supervision with Dr. Olivia Easley, Qualified Supervisor.
  • Regular, structured supervision built around your actual caseload and questions.
  • Full completion of Kindred Learning Academy's core training before or alongside seeing clients, depending on your program's timeline.
  • A completed Clinical Skills Snapshot, the same scenario-based assessment required of all clinical applicants.

Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA)

📍 North Carolina · Telehealth 🕐 Part-Time, W-2 🎯 15–20 sessions/week (target)

At Kindred Connections, we believe clinicians deserve a place where they can continue developing their clinical identity while providing meaningful, relationship-centered care. This position is designed for an associate counselor who wants to build a sustainable caseload while receiving ongoing clinical supervision, consultation, and support.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide individual counseling services within your scope of competence and licensure.
  • Conduct clinical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and clinically appropriate documentation.
  • Provide telehealth services in accordance with ethical, legal, and practice standards.
  • Participate consistently in required clinical supervision.
  • Seek consultation when clinical, ethical, risk, or professional concerns arise.
  • Participate in required practice meetings, onboarding, and training.
  • Collaborate with clients using culturally responsive, accessible, person-centered care.

Clinical supervision included

Required LCMHCA supervision is provided as part of your overall compensation — at no additional cost to you. Currently valued at $90 per session, supervision at KCC is designed to support your clinical judgment, case conceptualization, professional identity, and growth toward independent licensure.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Holds an active North Carolina LCMHCA license or is eligible to begin practice as an LCMHCA in NC.
  • Committed to ethical and culturally responsive counseling.
  • Open to supervision, consultation, and feedback.
  • Comfortable providing telehealth services.
  • Interested in building a consistent, sustainable caseload.
  • Values accessibility, inclusion, and respect for diverse identities and lived experiences.
  • Demonstrates reliability, professionalism, and timely documentation practices.
